ID: 6722 Location: GEORGIA NE Coastal Region - $325K+ This is a great opportunity for either an EM boarded physician, 2011 graduating resident or a highly experienced ED physician with primary care boards. Join an established group with strong stability in one of their finest sites in the northeast Georgia coastal region. This facility is an award winning hospital with all the bells and whistles, and a superb level two trauma center seeing a census of 40,000 annually. The hospital is state of the art with top radiology including a 64-slice CT Scan, nuclear radiology, wound care center, pain center, level 2 neo-nate cardiac cath lab, and in-house Psych services as well as bedside ultrasound and a dedicated nursing staff. Physicians work 12 hour shifts and average 33 clinical hours a week with outstanding coverage. There are 36 hours of physician coverage daily as well as 12 hours of mid-level provider coverage. Mid-levels cover the less emergent cases and also work with the physicians in the main ED. The patient mix is standard community hospital range with an acuity level of around 12%. Mid-levels see about 35% of ED patients. A full hospitalist program is in place with no admit orders being written by ED physicians. They also enjoy a full electronic medical records system. Back-up is outstanding with timely response in all major specialties including Pediatrics, Surgery, Ortho and Cardiology. Complex trauma cases, PICU and NICU are transferred to Savannah. Administrative support of the ED is excellent with full specialty support as well. The physical plant is spacious and pleasant. Wait times are short and even posted on the hospital web site. As an employee of this group, an incoming physician will receive a guaranteed salary of $120 per hour, but actually be paid on a fee-for-service basis averaging in the $140 to $160 per hour range. A physician interested in working exclusive night shifts will earn an additional $20 per hour. The group also provides a strong benefit package including health care for physician and family, long term disability, $10K for CME and full malpractice and tail coverage. In addition, the group provides a fully funded $49,000 annual contribution to a self-directed 401K account for each physician, bringing this package well above $325K based on 1,750 hours a year. Physicians are welcome to work extra shifts if desired. Location, location, location sells this position as much as any other factor. Live in Savannah and have an easy 45 minute commute to work.
