Southern New Hampshire Medical Center is a 188-bed acute care hospital located in Nashua, New Hampshire just 35 miles north of Boston - one hour from the ocean, mountains, and lakes.
We have literally been at the heart of better health for Greater Nashua. Our main downtown campus, a familiar landmark for generations, has grown along with the Gate City. Today, The Medical Center and our affiliated doctors and services extend across much of southern New Hampshire. |
Dedicated to meeting the medical needs of families throughout the region, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center retains the personal touch of a traditional community hospital while offering a higher level of care. Through partnerships with Dartmouth Medical School, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lahey Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer
Center, Joslin Diabetes Center and Children's Hospital in Boston, The Medical Center provides its patients with seamless access to these centers of excellence, and delivers a full complement of adult and maternal child health care.
The Medical Center also has the only newborn intensive care unit in Nashua and the largest network of skilled primary care and specialty physicians in the area. |

Nashua is the second largest city in New Hampshire and is the center of a diverse and dynamic region of more than 175,000 people. It is well endowed with urban amenities as well as the charm of the traditional New England landscape. The combination of an excellent quality of life and proximity to Boston, the seacoast, and the White Mountains make Nashua an attractive growth center for New England. (See the Map). |
This region has been New Hampshire’s economic and cultural engine. Along the banks of the historic Merrimack River are scores of 19th century brick mills. Many have been updated into shops, restaurants, and lodgings. Nashua, a booming center for high tech, has been noted many times as one of the Best Places to Live.
Away from the city bustle you’ll find country roads ideal for biking, as well as many beautiful walks and short hikes. In the cities are fine hotels while the small towns have comfortable inns and B&B's that are both economical and luxurious.
New Hampshire is made up of seven very different regions, each as exciting as the next. The Seacoast, Dartmouth - Lake Sunapee, Lakes Region, Merrimack Valley, Monadnock Region, White Mountains and Great North Woods are filled with natural beauty, cultural events and classic New England living.
New Hampshire does not have a State income tax or sales tax. |
