Nampa, with a population of 58,000 is located in the fertile Snake River plain in Southwest Idaho, 9 miles form Boise. Nampa offers a variety of opportunities including a growing business community, great schools, health care facilities, thriving arts and entertainment, wonderful history, and fantastic recreational opportunities. Nampa's high desert location - bounded to the north by the Front Range of the Rockies and to the south by the Owyhee Mountains - provides an ideal climate for year-round sports and recreation. |
Canyon County has a very strong agricultural and manufacturing base and is the heart of Idaho's wine country. Nampa and Canyon County have long been known for their highly diversified farming operations. Canyon County is a national leader in the production of livestock, certified alfalfa seed and dairy production and grows over 90% of the world's sweet corn seed.
A cool evening drive through the west end of the valley leads to our quiet back road farms and the sweet smell of fields in Canyon County. Play a round of golf in any season. Fish for bass and trout. Enjoy a symphony. Drive to the beautiful orchard country around Sunny Slope, where the St. Chapelle Winery celebrates with summer Sunday Jazz Concerts, or hop on your mountain bike. Visit the Deer Flat National Wildlife Lake Lowell Visitors Center. Ski the waters or ski the slopes. |
7 miles away from Nampa is Boise, the state capital of Idaho. Boise's city population is 205,000 and the Boise metropolitan area is estimated to have 599,000 inhabitants, by far the most populous metropolitan area in Idaho.
